Arizona Cardinals feeling optimistic with victory in hand
The jury still is out as to whether Ken Whisenhunt will return next season as the Cardinals TM coach, but whoever it happens to be, he will like hearing this:
We TMre close to being a great team, defensive tackle Calais Campbell said after Sunday TMs 38 10 romp and stomp over the visiting Detroit Lions.
This game was like the first four we played. We felt confident. We felt in control. We went out and had fun and made it happen. Now we TMve got to find a way to win our last two and turn it into some momentum for next year.
Are the Cardinals (5 9) really that close to being great? This is, after all, the same team that had lost nine consecutive games before breaking through against the Lions, now losers of six in a row.
I think we are, Campbell said. If we get this kind of effort every week, I honestly think we can be one of the best teams in the game. If we just finish our Masteron King drives on offense, if we keep getting three and outs from the defense. We TMre so close to being great.
Arizona TMs defense ranks fourth against the pass, allowing 199.3 yards "Anaboliset Aineet" per game, and its 22 interceptions the NFL. The Cardinals have forced 32 turnovers overall, the fourth most in the league.
All we need, left guard Daryn Colledge said, is to be more consistent on offense.
The Cardinals didn TMt put up gaudy offensive numbers against Detroit. They compiled fewer than 200 total yards (196). Two of their three rushing touchdowns came on drives accumulating all of eight yards combined.
But they scored when necessary after the defense set them up all day.
Considering they TMre relying on a rookie quarterback (Ryan Lindley) who was a sixth round draft pick and an offensive line that had to be pieced together because of numerous season ending injuries, any win should be considered a major triumph.
Overall I thought our players really laid it on the line yesterday, Whisenhunt said Monday. Guys really wanted to be out there and play, play together, and they played Gensci Jintropin hard.
I "Anabolika Definition" think it speaks volumes about the team going forward when you have young guys and veteran guys that, in the midst of something that was pretty tough, stick together the way they did and play the way they did.
Despite starting a new center (guard Adam Snyder) and a new right guard (Pat McQuistan), the Cardinals allowed only one sack against the Lions. And despite playing two rookies at the tackle positions, the Cardinals have allowed just 17 sacks in their past seven games after allowing 37 in the first seven games.
We had some issues and some snaps on the ground and had some mistakes, Whisenhunt said of his linemen, but overall, with a week of practice with Is Testosterone Propionate Illegal those guys " two guys at two new positions and those young tackles " they did a nice job.
The offense will continue to be a work in progress until the franchise can solidify its offensive line, find some endurance at running back and, of course, determine just who will be starting at quarterback.
For now it TMs Lindley TMs turn, and he has two games remaining " against 4-chlorodehydromethyltestosterone the Bears and 49ers " to prove he has the potential to be the starter. Otherwise, the Cardinals will be forced to keep Kevin Kolb and hope he can stay healthy or find someone new they can trust either through the Mesterolone Vs Mestanolone draft, free agency or another trade.
You TMve got to find out, but yeah, the expectations are that he TMs going to get better, Whisenhunt said of Lindley, who was 14 of 21 for 104 yards and an interception Sunday.
You can definitely see some improvement how he mentally and physically went into that game and handled it. Now we TMve got to see more. I want to see him make some throws, have a little bit more production, and hopefully that will happen.
If it doesn TMt, the Cardinals can TMt keep expecting their defense to bail them out. They TMre going to need a capable offense Buy Viagra Berlin that can score on its own and a quarterback who can at least minimize mistakes and manage a game.
Without that, they aren TMt close to being a great team, as Campbell so glowingly suggests. But for now, they gladly will embrace a victory and see what next week brings them against the visiting Bears (8 6), who have dropped five of their past six.
